ARDĒO began
with one London flat
My best friend wanted a fireplace to feel home. But she couldn't touch a single wall in her rental flat.
As an architect, she asked me. And everything here started as the answer to her question.

No fire in a rented flat
A fireplace traditionally means a flue, a permit, a builder and a budget of thousands.
In a rented flat, it means a flat no. I believe a flame belongs in a home, not in a construction project, and that long grey evenings deserve one.

And here we are!
We sell one thing: freestanding bioethanol fires in steel, selected with an architect's eye for proportion and stability.
Each arrives in about next weekend, assembles in minutes, and burns with no smoke, no ash and no chimney. Every model had to pass one test: would it work in my best friend's flat?
